Components
In computer technology an upgrade is the replacement of hardware or software with a version that provides new functions or features. Upgrades are generally performed to make a system more efficient, more reliable or capable of handling greater amounts of data. Hardware upgrades may include storage devices such as hard disk processors, drives, and motherboards. Computer upgrades must always be compatible with specifications of the computer that is being upgraded.
Upgrade items in Guild Wars 2 are items that slot into armors, weapons, and trinkets. They provide an attribute bonus while the equipment is in use. To be accepted as a component, it must have an upgrade slot that is open and be above or equal to the level specified.
Components can be purchased from vendors in Night City or obtained by disassembling items that aren't functional. They are also available for purchase from random locations all over the world. Components are available from vendors, even when the item isn't appropriate for the level.
There are various kinds of components, with universal upgrades (such as gemstones) able to be placed in any equipment, and granting less bonuses than those that are type-restricted. Jewels are only available in trinkets. They also provide a more bonus points than any other upgrade.
item upgrader are unique upgrade items that can only be placed inside the trinket. They can be used to increase the experience multiplier. They can be extremely useful in determining the max and min of a character as they are relatively inexpensive to purchase, however they do not stack with any other experience modifiers.
Infusions are a different kind of upgrade item that can be added to non-ascended armor and legendary armor, as well as other non-legendary back items. You can recover them by using the tool for extraction of infusions or salvaging them with the Ascended Rescue Tool. It is important to remember that upgrading an item by using infusions will result in the item displaying an unique name. For instance the addition of an infusion of Rune of Minor Vigor to an Tyrian Armor will cause it to display the name "Radiant Tyrian Armor." In the hover display an inscription will show as an Inscribed weapon.
Glyphs
Glyphs are the items that increase the substatus of a piece of equipment. They are available in a variety of places, however the most popular place to get them is from completing Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides. You can also obtain them by visiting the Faction Crypts. The Glyphs you find in crypts are class-specific, so ensure that you only claim the ones that pertain to your character. You can use your Glyphs at the Glyph Altar in Teleria. This altar will increase the value of your item that is enchanted by a certain amount dependent on the Glyph you choose to use.
Generally, the glyphs that are available will give you a boost to your primary stat, but certain glyphs will also have other effects such as increasing damage, healing, or resistance. Glyphs are a great way to upgrade gear however they can be difficult to obtain and use. The best way to ensure you get the most value from your glyphs is to keep them updated regularly. The upgraded glyphs will be visible in your inventory.
Some dropped items have the default glyph, which will auto-upgrade when you improve the item. This only applies to glyphs that were manually crafted onto the item, not the original enchantment. Glyphs that automatically upgraded will always have a higher ranking than the glyphs you manually created.
Glyphs are a crucial part of the crafting process. They can be used to transform a prefix on belts, gloves or boots into an experimental affix. Glyphs of Insight can be difficult to obtain, though because the RNG component of their creation could cause them to be not available when you require them. To guide players, we have created a Glyph of Insight crafting spreadsheet to assist.

Some tips for getting Glyphs faster include choosing shorter, less difficult dungeons such as Witchwater. This dungeon has a linear layout, which makes it easy to navigate and take on enemies. Consuming health potions during dungeon runs will also help speed up the process.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of replacing an upgrade item with another of the same type. This changes its extra stats, but doesn't change the item level or a unit's attachment slot. The price of the new item will depend on its rarity and level. This can be done with rings, armors, weapons and other items.
Upgrade items are accessories that improve the stats of units in Guild Wars 2 These items come in a large variety, and can improve several different characteristics. The upgrades improve the physical strength, power of spells and health of armors, weapons and rings. They also add a range of other capabilities to the unit. The player can utilize an item by placing it in its corresponding slot on the unit's portrait.
Recycling items will fill the progress bar, which increases the value of upgrading an item. Recycling up to six items at once is possible, and points earned for recycling increase depending on the rarity and value of the item. The resulting upgrade will be random, and cannot be confirmed.
Rerolling or not is dependent on the player's preferences. Some players like to reroll so that they have a strong collection of strong characters to carry them through the game while others may choose not to reroll as they prefer playing with their favourite character regardless of their power.
Rerolling can be costly and requires an enormous amount of time, so you should carefully consider the advantages and disadvantages. If you're unsure of which rerolling strategy to use consult with other players and ask advice.
The best way to increase your chances of getting an outstanding reroll is to play frequently and earn a good amount of tokens. This will ensure that you have enough tokens to replace the items you upgrade with if you need to. You can also increase your chances of rerolling by playing the game on its most difficult difficulty. If you're having trouble finding an upgrade item that is worth your time, try to play the game on the hardest or even the hardest difficulty settings.
Sets
If an upgrade item is put on a set or unique item, it grants that set a special bonus. These bonuses can vary depending on the kind of upgrade. If an upgrade is put on the guardian set or ring, it will give an increase in def, while a weapon upgrade will increase the aoe damage.
While the extra stats provided by an upgrade can help the build, they aren't always the most beneficial. If there are already nearly perfect versions that aren't upgraded of a high DPS item (whistan’s shield for FB Sorcs for instance) upgrading it might not be as beneficial. A unique affix can be a valuable aspect of an item and could be useful in its original design.
